I have driven another 40k+ miles since then.<br \/>\nSomehow the head gasket started to leak about 3 years ago.<br \/>\nI parked the car with coolant drained and oil changed for almost 3 years.<br \/>\nI finally took the engine apart and had the head gasket replaced.<\/p>\n<p>In the past few days I had the engine reassembled and started.<br \/>\nIt idled reasonably well within 10 minutes after first started.<br \/>\nI think I shall be able to drive this car soon again.<\/p>\n<p>But before that I need to make sure the brake is in good order.<br \/>\nI probably want to drain and refill the transmission fluid and brake fluid.<br \/>\nThe coolant is fresh now. I use VW's blue coolant because it is for VW's Vanagon which<br \/>\nhas an alluminum wet liner engine and require to use this blue coolant.<br \/>\nI will probably want to repack all wheel bearings and change the oil in the transaxle too.<\/p>\n<p>Well, this is going to be a while before I get all these done.<br \/>\nThen I will need to re register this car and get insurance for it.<br \/>\nBoy, I just can't wait to drive it again.<\/p>\n<p>Good luck to you all and your 262C. If I were to grade it....Exterior A-,it has just a few imperfections,Interior A,Engine A-,it has a rear seal leak.<br \/>\nTransmission A,it has a front seal leak. NO rust or rot whatsoever...<br \/>\nIt was originally bought and registered in Texas. I've owned it for I believe 15-17 years and I've never registered it.<br \/>\nIt has seen very little milage since I flew down to Texas with a budy of mine,<br \/>\npurchased it and drove it back to Connecticut (about 1,300 miles...
