International measurement units

 The SI system (Système International d'Unités) is based in the specifica-
tions on the following pages.
The units which were formerly used are also shown in brackets in some
cases.
The international units:

KW - kilowatt: indicates output
          formerly hp (horsepower)
          100 kW = approx. 136 hp

Nm - Newton metres: indicates torque
          formerly kpm or kgm (kilopond metre or kilogram metre)
          100 Nm = approx. 10 kgm

r/s - Revolutions per second
          formerly rpm (revolutions per minute)
          100 r/s = 6000 rpm

kPa - Kilopascal: indicates pressure
          formerly kpm or kgm (kilopond metre or kilogram metre)
          per square centimetre
          100 kPa = approx. 1 kg/cm²

Type designation

Type designations

In all correspondence concerning your veh-
icle and when ordering parts, type de-
signation chassis and engine numbers should
always be quoted.

1 Type and mode year designation
    Chassis number
    Stamped on the right-hand door pillar and
    on a plate at rear of boot.

2 Type designation, max. permissable
    loads and code number for colour and
    upholstery
    On a plate above right headlamp.

3 Type designation and serial numbers
    On right-hand side of engine.

4 Type designation, serial number
    Automatic transmission: on left-hand side
    of transmission.

5 Final drive reduction ratio, part number
    and serial number
    On a plate on left-hand side of final drive.
